Negotiations? A Rather Naive Means to Peace and Security

When discussing life and death, deadly hate, war and peace, it's pretty obvious to me that words, negotiations are not the means to a pleasant successful repair of a bad situation.  A negotiated agreement generally turns out to be cosmetic, temporary. People who have had cosmetic surgery for reduce a large, ugly nose can't expect their children to be born with a nose that looks like their small, surgically reduced one. That big one is in their genes, and the small one is man-made, artificial.

Can a leopard change his spots?

Spot the Difference
Simply put, this is why I think that Israel is making a very dangerous mistake trying to negotiate with the Arabs for "peace."  I just don't think that a massive group of people, and the Arabs who want the State of Israel destroyed and the Land of Israel judenrein are many, many millions, can suddenly change their spots with a "peace treaty."    It's harder than painting a dark blue and pink striped room solid white.

Simultaneously to the pressure the United States has been very blatantly putting on Israel to agree to all Arab demands for "peace," Obama's Government has been trying to negotiate with Iran to get them to stop their nuclear weapons development.  Luckily, there are other countries involved, and some of them have more seichel, common sense.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Zarif insists that Tehran will never accept plans written by others. Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius says that's precisely the problem.American, Russian, Chinese, British and German diplomats are all hot and heavy about the new Iran deal, making Prime Minister Netanyahu look like the poor girl who wasn’t invited to the prom, but then, when all seems lost – French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius says he doesn’t like the deal. “There are still a couple of points that we are not satisfied with,” Fabius told a French radio station, among them the Arak nuclear plant and the fact that Iran gets to keep its stock of 20 percent enriched uranium. “We are for an agreement, that’s clear. But the agreement has got to be serious and credible. The initial text made progress but not enough,” Fabius said, suggesting the French government will not fall for “a fool’s game.”

In all honesty, I think that it is much, much more difficult for Israel to negotiate a serious, viable, realistic agreement with the Arabs, because the Arabs have been attacking us physically with international diplomatic, academic and media support for more than a century.  Generations of Arabs have been raised with hate of Jews and Israel.  That can't be wiped out with the swipe of a pen in a photo-op ceremony.

It's very clear from United States Secretary of State Kerry's threats to Israel that he and the Obama government are not neutral mediators.
(Reuters) - U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry warned Israel on Thursday that it could face a third Palestinian uprising and deepening international isolation if American-brokered peace negotiations failed.
There is no way for us to have peace with the Arabs until the Arabs want to live with us in peace.  At present there is absolutely no sign of that.  They want us, Jews and the State of Israel dead, destroyed and gone. And their also want more foreign funds to give to their cronies and add to their secret bank accounts.  All investigations of their finances show this.
Over the past four years, the Palestinian Authority has managed to "lose" nearly $3 billion in financial aid from Europe, according to a report by the European Court of Auditors that was leaked to Britain's Sunday Times.
The news comes just days after Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbaspublicly blamed Israel for his regime's economic woes.
The European Court of Auditors is an organ set up by the European Union to monitor income and spending by member states. In its report, the court revealed that $2.7 in direct aid to the Palestinians between 2008 and 2012 could not be accounted for. What's more, EU investigators who visited Jerusalem and the so-called "West Bank" were unable to access information or speak to Palestinian officials regarding suspected corruption.
Of course, this comes as no surprise to the Palestinians themselves. In a survey published last month by the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research, 79 percent of respondents said the Abbas government is corrupt to the point of being ineffective.
So, let's get real, pragmatic and stop this dangerous farce!  No more negotiations.  No more "gestures" to the so-called "Palestinians."  Let's pull a Fidel Castro and tell the United States to butt out!  When the Arabs want real peace, whether it's in one generation or ten, we'll be ready.

The French have the cojones to stand up to Obama.

Israel might take a lesson from them that utter subservience to whatever America demands earns Israel no real respect.

That's exactly why Netanyahu has been treated like the unloved kid at the party spoiling every one else's fun. He cannot say "no" when its necessary and the right thing to do.

Why in the world should any one take Israel seriously? The Iranians certainly don't. Until Israel learns to stand up for itself, it won't get others to stand up for it, too.
